Fighting Back Partnership chosen for "SSV Kidzone" seats for the MLS San Jose Earthquakes on June 14 at the McAfee Coliseum in Oakland
The Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation is pleased to welcome 50 youths and their chaperones from Vallejo’s Fighting Back Partnership (FBP) as their guests in the SSV Kidzone for the June 14 San Jose Earthquakes soccer game at the McAfee Coliseum in Oakland against David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy.
FBP’s Youth Partnership is a very active coalition of youths aged 12 through 18 that works on projects that help improve the quality of life for all Vallejo residents. The group focuses on leadership activities that raise awareness among youth, peers and other members of the community regarding access to tobacco and alcohol and the prevalence of advertising and promotion of these products in Vallejo.
"Incentives and recognition like that provided by Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation reinforce the concept of partnership with other organizations and the community at large that will entice these young people to do more and enjoy the fruits of doing the right thing," says George Vásquez, Youth Programs Director.
"As a Vallejo resident, I’m pleased that we’ve been able to provide these tickets to Fighting Back Partnership, one of our community’s most important non-profits," says Jay Hipps, a member of the Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s board of directors. "This is a great way to recognize and validate Fighting Back’s youth programs."
"We are really excited to be working with the team’s fans through the SSV Community Foundation on the Kidzone," says Earthquakes Executive Vice President David Alioto. "Bringing Fighting Back Partnership to our June 14 match is a great way to share our team with deserving youth and their families from Vallejo."
