South Bay VIP Program to be recipients of "SSV Kidzone" seats for the the US Open Cup Match on April 14th at Buck Shaw Stadium featuring the San Jose Earthquakes against the 2009 MLS champion, Real Salt Lake
Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation is pleased to welcome 50 children and families from South Bay VIP Program as their guests in the SSV Kidzone seats for the US Open Cup Match on April 14th at Buck Shaw Stadium featuring the San Jose Earthquakes versus Real Salt Lake.
"Soccer Silicon Valley, through our community foundation in partnership with the San Jose Earthquakes, has set up a program to bring 50 deserving kids to every Earthquakes home game," says SSV Kidzone Chair Lloyd Danon. "Because of the deserving children that South Bay VIP Program serves, we selected South Bay VIP Program to receive tickets for free admission to this game."
"We are really excited to be working with the team's fans through SSV Community Foundation on the Kidzone," says Earthquakes Executive Vice President David Alioto. "We are pleased with the choice of the South Bay VIP Program as a deserving program for this partnership."
About South Bay VIP Program:
The South Bay VIP Program, which is part of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), is run by volunteers. The program was started in the fall of 2003 and serves children with special needs who otherwise would not have the opportunity to play soccer. We have adapted the game of soccer so that every child can play regardless of their ability. For example, we use balls that beep for our visually impaired players. The program operates in the fall and spring. We have served over 280 children the past 6 years. For children with special needs there are many barriers that they must overcome in their lives. The South Bay VIP Program eliminates some of those barriers, so that children with special needs can participate in soccer. Since its founding in 1964, AYSO's main philosophy has been "Everyone Plays". This program makes this key philosophy a reality.

Through the SSV Kidzone, SSVCF will bring during the 2010 MLS season a different group of 50 under-privileged kids (and their adult chaperones) from a different youth-oriented non-profit in a Bay Area community to see Earthquakes soccer – an experience they will remember forever – in the "SSV Kidzone," courtesy of Earthquakes fans. The SSV Kidzone is a collaborative effort between the fans and the San Jose Earthquakes, who have made significantly discounted tickets available to SSVCF for purchase in the SSV Kidzone.
