PRESS RELEASE

MACSA Youths to be Guests of "SSV Kidzone" for the 2009 San Jose Earthquakes Season Opener on March 21 vs. New England Revolution

Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SSVCF) is pleased to welcome 50 children and families from the Mexican American Community Services Agency (MACSA) of San Jose youth program as their guests in the SSV Kidzone for the 2009 season opener to be played by the San Jose Earthquakes soccer club at the renovated Buck Shaw Stadium at Santa Clara University on Saturday, March 21 against the New England Revolution.

”Soccer Silicon Valley, through our community foundation and in partnership with the San Jose Earthquakes, has set up a program to bring 50 deserving kids to every Earthquakes home game,” says SSV Kidzone Chair Lloyd Danon. We selected the MACSA youth program because of its excellent reputation and success of their youth program.

"Many of the young players coming out of the MACSA youth program are selected to participate in the National ODP Soccer program or are awarded athletic college scholarships. The talent being developed by program coordinator Mario Gonzales is impressive. Besides giving the youth a great after school and weekend program, he is preparing them for success in life," says SSVCF board member Lori Hibbett.

MACSA will be the first group to enjoy the SSV Kidzone this season.
