David Kucera

The Bay Area soccer community sadly announced the passing of one of its players, David Kucera, on January 9, 2011. David played for the DeAnza Force Soccer Club for most of his youth, and was a member of the soccer team at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. His funeral was held on Saturday, January 22nd, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the St. Simons Church in Los Altos, CA.

The Force Soccer Club and Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation in partnership with David's parents--Tara Jolley and Jan Kucera--have established the David Kucera Soccer Award in loving memory of David Kucera who passed on way too soon for a young man who stood out in so many ways.

Initially, the family asked for donations to be made in his name through SSVCF. These donations would be spread out for as many years as funds allow, awarding $500 per year to a Boys Force Soccer Academy player who goes above and beyond in his commitment to his soccer team, his performance on the field, his academic excellence and service to his community. SSVCF collected donations and presented the Kucera Award at its annual dinner until the Fall of 2015, when SSVCF transferred the administration of the David Kucera Award to the DeAnza Force Soccer Club, which was David's home club before he attended Loyola Marymount University. DeAnza Force is a 501(c) non profit entity. The club's Tax ID # 20-0428766.

Donations will now be made through the Force website at:
